When you book a maternity session at White Room Studio, the studio is reserved exclusively for you. This is not something every studio offers, and for expectant mothers it makes an enormous difference.

We provide a selection of maternity gowns and wraps: flowy, fitted, and draped styles in neutral and complementary tones. You are welcome to bring your own outfits as well. Our team sends style guidance before every session so you arrive knowing exactly what to expect.

Our studio spans two floors of a 1927 Peranakan shophouse. The third floor’s tall windows provide all-day natural light that is particularly warm and flattering for maternity portraiture. The second floor offers a more intimate, atmospheric setting. Both are available in your session.

We have a private changing room, a vanity space, and complimentary refreshments. Sessions are unhurried, we do not watch the clock.

For the best results, we recommend scheduling your pregnancy photoshoot between 30–36 weeks, when your baby bump is beautifully defined while you still feel comfortable moving and posing.

Not to worry, maternity photoshoots can be before 30 weeks if preferred— and we’ll tailor each session accordingly. Our goal is to make your maternity shoot relaxed, enjoyable and memorable.

• Discuss any specific poses and themes with us before the photoshoot
• Bring along meaningful and heirloom items/props/accessories/clothing that you’d like to include in the photos, these make the photos extra meaningful
• What to wear (e.g. neutral tones, textures & flowing silhouettes)
• How to prepare your skin & hair

2. Pre-Shoot Planning – we’ll contact you to discuss the photoshoot details, wardrobe advice, how to prepare, what to bring, what to look out for.
3. On the Day – arrival at studio, get comfortable in your dedicated changing room, meet your photographer, shoot begins in a calm, relaxed atmosphere, outfit changes (if preferred).
4. Post-Production, Keepsakes & Delivery – we’ll be in contact for selection once the photos have been processed, retouch, decide on fine-art prints/albums/gifts, set a date for viewing.

Every session includes a professional photographer team with 5-23 years of experience in portrait photography, studio assistants, refreshments, personalised posing and direction, wardrobe suggestions, and the option for professional hair and makeup.
