At White Room Studio, we specialise in maternity photoshoots in Singapore that celebrate your journey into motherhood through timeless, elegant and emotionally rich portraiture since 2009. We are Tatler’s Best Portrait Photographer for nine consecutive years, from 2017 to 2025. Over 1,000 parents-to-be have shared their joy and anticipation with us through their maternity sessions here at our Peranakan corner shophouse.
Our maternity sessions are conducted in private. The studio is reserved exclusively for you and your partner during your session. A selection of maternity gowns and wraps are provided for complimentary use. Our natural light from tall windows is particularly suited to maternity portraiture, creating warmth and softness that flattering artificial lighting simply cannot replicate. We are at 219 River Valley Road, Singapore 238277, near Fort Canning MRT.

When you book a maternity session at White Room Studio, the studio is reserved exclusively for you. This is not something every studio offers, and for expectant mothers it makes an enormous difference.
We provide a selection of maternity gowns and wraps at no charge: flowy, fitted, and draped styles in neutral and complementary tones. If you would rather wear your own maternity photoshoot dress, you are very welcome to bring it, and we will build the session around it. Our team sends style guidance before every session so you arrive knowing exactly what to expect.
Our studio spans two floors of a 1927 Peranakan shophouse. The third floor’s tall windows provide all-day natural light that is particularly warm and flattering for maternity portraiture. The second floor offers a more intimate, atmospheric setting. Both are available in your session.
We have a private changing room, a vanity space, and complimentary refreshments. Sessions are unhurried, we do not watch the clock.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR A PREGNANCY PHOTOSHOOT?
For the best results, we recommend scheduling your pregnancy photoshoot between 30–36 weeks, when your baby bump is beautifully defined while you still feel comfortable moving and posing.
Not to worry, maternity photoshoots can be before 30 weeks if preferred— and we’ll tailor each session accordingly. Our goal is to make your maternity shoot relaxed, enjoyable and memorable.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
Wear something fitted rather than loose. Draped fabric hides the bump, and the bump is the reason you came. Neutrals and soft tones photograph best under natural light. Bring a second outfit if you want variety, and something comfortable to travel in.
Bring anything that means something. The first scan photo. A pair of tiny shoes. Your older child’s favourite toy. These are the frames families come back for years later, and they are impossible to recreate afterwards.
Moisturise the night before rather than the morning of, so skin looks settled rather than shiny. If you are booking hair and makeup with us, we will schedule it before your session so nothing is rushed.
Eat properly beforehand and bring water. An hour and a half is longer than it sounds at 34 weeks, and there is a lounge to sit down in whenever you need it.
Tell us in advance if you have a particular pose or setting in mind. It is far easier to plan for than to improvise on the day.

HOW MUCH DOES A MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT COST IN SINGAPORE?
Maternity photoshoot sessions at White Room Studio start from $390 on weekdays. That covers up to four people for an hour and a half, both floors of the studio, three or four settings, the maternity gowns and wraps, professional direction throughout, and the viewing session afterwards.
Additional people are $20 each, and pets count as one. Weekend and public holiday sessions carry a $100 surcharge and book up faster, so if you can manage a weekday it is worth asking. An outdoor maternity session adds a $150 location fee.
What you spend beyond the session depends on what you want to take home. Retouched digital files, fine art prints, framing and hand-stitched albums are all chosen after you have seen the photographs, not before. We would rather you decide once you know which images you love than commit to a package in advance and feel locked into it.
